Mountains
A lifelong journey through rock and sky, from the valleys of Mexico to the canyons of the American Southwest.
Since childhood, mountains have held me in their gaze. Their immensity reshapes the earth, creating borders and sheltering valleys. The photos here capture this power: Monument Valley’s sandstone sentinels and the Grand Canyon’s layered depths speak of time measured in millennia.
I climbed Nevado de Toluca once, at 4,690 meters (15,387 feet) in central Mexico. It demanded every ounce of my strength, a reminder that these giants do not yield easily. As a non-professional mountaineer, I rely on guides for safety, yet the challenge only deepens my respect. These images are not just landscapes. They are conversations between earth and sky, between human scale and geological time. Each frame holds the memory of standing small beneath something vast, of wind carrying stories older than memory.
This project continues. I will return to mountains, to learn their language one step at a time. The next climb awaits.
An ongoing exploration. Updated with each journey.
